Play Therapy
Play is more than just an activity - It’s a powerful way for children (and adults!) to explore their inner world and process emotions, experiences, and trauma. Through play, children can express what words cannot while the therapist attunes to the child, providing a safe space for exploration, healing, and growth.

We recognize and celebrate the unique strengths, challenges, and potential of each child. Our approach is grounded in neuroscience, attachment, and relational principles, which recognizes the profound connection between the brain, body, and nervous system in understanding behaviour and in meeting needs to support a felt sense of safety, connection and regulation.
Key elements of our work with children
1. Strength-Based and Non-Pathologizing: We focus on honoring each child’s strengths and gifts, helping them build confidence and resilience while addressing challenges in a compassionate and supportive way.

2. Relational and Attachment-Based: Our therapists prioritize building a strong, trusting relationship with your child. This relational foundation helps foster a sense of safety and connection, which are essential for their growth and development.
3. Multi-Sensory and Experiential Interventions: Recognizing the diverse ways children process information and express themselves, we incorporate creative, experiential therapies such as:

• Play Therapy: Engaging children in meaningful play to explore emotions and build skills.
• Art Therapy: Providing a creative outlet for self-expression and processing.
• Movement and Sensory-Based Activities: Supporting emotional regulation and body awareness through activities that honor the nervous system.

4. Collaboration with Families: We view parents and caregivers as an integral part of the process. We will collaborate with you to ensure consistency and alignment between our sessions and your home environment.

5. A Neuro-relational Framework: Rooted in the latest research, our approach supports children in developing self-regulation, emotional awareness, and interpersonal connection. Our trauma-informed practices ensure that we’re always sensitive to your child’s unique neurobiology and experiences.
Our goal is to create a supportive space for children and their families to feel seen, understood, and empowered to thrive. The parent intake session is an important first step to ask questions and collaborate on a wellness plan that is in alignment with your child's needs and therapeutic goals.
