Benefits of Neurotherapy

Neurotherapy can address brain health issues in ways that traditional talk therapy cannot.  There is good research to support the use of neurotherapy techniques to address attention, anxiety, depression, trauma, brain injury, and peak performance.

Improve Focus

Neurotherapy improves concentration by training the brain to develop healthier patterns, making it a viable non-pharmaceutical alternative for conditions like ADHD.

Reduce Anxiety

By promoting regulation of brain activity, neurotherapy can help to reduce stress and anxiety, fostering a sense of calm and emotional balance.

Sleep Better

Neurotherapy can address sleep disturbances by optimizing brainwave activity, leading to more restorative and consistent sleep patterns.

Lens - Low Energy Neurofeedback System

LENS neurofeedback uses advanced technology to target poor communication patterns between different parts of the brain. It helps to restore optimal neural pathways and communication to improve wellness and reduce symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and overwhelm.

It is a novel approach to balancing brain communication and functioning. Some common outcomes include:

1. Stress reduction and enhanced relaxation.

2. Improved mood and emotional regulation.

3. Better focus, attention, and concentration.

4. Increased mental clarity and cognitive functioning.

5. Relief from symptoms related to anxiety, depression, brain fog, and trauma.

6. Improved sleep and enhanced overall well-being.

We also use BodyLENS and have had great success with neuronal pain reduction, such as with shingles.

Step 1: Book an intake with one of our clinical counsellors so that we can best determine your wellness goals and which technology is the best fit.

Step 2: Then you simply book a 25- or 50-minute Brain Spa sessions using our online system. It’ s that easy!

In a typical session

  • If you are doing LENS, the technician will attach one or 2 sensors to your scalp, along with a clip on each ear. We use a paste, somewhat like beeswax to help the sensors stick (we clean it off before you leave!). The technician will change the location of the sensors and let the computer do the work (usually the runs are less than 2 minutes).

  • The VieLight and DAVID devices fit comfortably on your head and we will adjust them before you can continue to relax in our comfy chair. You just relax and let the technology do the work.

  • If we are using HeartMath, you will play some breathing games, to help you practice improving your HRV, all while relaxing in the comfy chair.

You shouldn ’t feel any pain or discomfort using the various technologies, but you should begin to feel more energized, focused, grounded, and relaxed.

One aspect of neurotherapy that I love is being able to reveal and confirm for a client what it is they are actually experiencing.

One aspect of neurotherapy that I love is being able to reveal and confirm for a client what it is they are actually experiencing.

For example, I had a client who was feeling very anxious and over aroused, but the people closest to her were saying that she was overreacting and just needed to “suck it up”.

After doing a brain map, and also a check on heart rate variability, we were able to actually see where her brain was overactive (which was contributing to her anxiety symptoms). We could also see her levels of arousal in the nervous system. Both of these confirmed that she wasn't crazy and it went a long way to easing her mind, and also making her feel a sense of agency that she could do something about her anxiety.
